Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer (PaaS)

Maintain secure OpenShift Platform as a Service environments across cloud and vSphere infrastructure. Support U.S. intelligence missions through General Dynamics Information Technology’s technology and professional services.

Description

  • Contribute to an Agile Scrum development team
  • Build and maintain an agency-wide Platform as a Service capability across multiple security domains
  • Operate and maintain Red Hat OpenShift environments across cloud and vSphere data centers
  • Support OpenShift operators and frameworks, including Crossplane, Kyverno, and Red Hat GitOps
  • Deploy OpenShift environments at newly established sites
  • Assess integration needs with internal and external teams and scale platforms accordingly
  • Partner with Security to maintain compliance and create secure solutions
  • Support RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Elastic Stack data services
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements

  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • Five to eight years of development experience
  • DoW 8570 IAT Level II qualification, with one of the following certifications: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA
  • Experience working with Platform as a Service environments
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
  • Experience using Scrum or Agile methodologies
  • Experience deploying and managing Red Hat OpenShift in cloud or vSphere environments
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and Git
  • Experience with Linux distributions, including RHEL/RHCOS and CentOS
  • Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
  • Experience with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem
