Description
- Review proposed clues for errors, ambiguity, inappropriate difficulty, and inaccurate meanings
- Rewrite clues that lack precision or wit
- Create original clues for easy, medium, and difficult puzzles
- Apply grid constraints, standard abbreviations, and short two- or three-letter words
- Validate puzzles in the web interface for spelling, accuracy, answer uniqueness, and consistent difficulty
- Create a shared style guide for fléchés and crossword puzzles with your partner
- Collaborate closely with the crossword specialist
Requirements
- Study literature, linguistics, or a related subject and be able to obtain an internship agreement
- Have extensive, regular experience with fléchés puzzles and know the genre’s classic conventions and pitfalls
- Demonstrate impeccable spelling
- Bring an extensive vocabulary
- Enjoy wordplay and double meanings
- Work independently and rigorously in a remote setting
