FinTech Data Analyst - U.S. Remote

Support MVB’s banking and fintech partnerships through financial modeling, profitability analysis, forecasting, and executive reporting. This full-time remote role is limited to eligible U.S. states.

Description

  • Develop and maintain financial models for prospective fintech clients, covering deposit balances, net interest income, and fee revenue forecasts.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses for client ramp-up, interest-rate conditions, and transaction-volume growth.
  • Assess new-client onboarding economics against vertical benchmarks to support deal structure and pricing decisions.
  • Review post-launch profitability to uncover margin compression, pricing concerns, and adverse performance trends.
  • Work with Account Management to recommend pricing changes and contract renegotiations.
  • Track portfolio KPIs to surface outliers and developing risks.
  • Contribute to monthly fintech performance reports, executive presentations, and board or Investment Committee materials.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, variance analysis, and monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Keep rolling net interest income and deposit forecasts current.
  • Produce accurate financial materials for senior leadership and board review.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Finance, Treasury, Data, and senior leadership throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Present financial findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or another related quantitative discipline.
  • Two to three years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, banking, or a comparable analytical position.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including SUMIFS, pivot tables, financial modeling, and scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for executive and board-level reporting.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative ability, including comfort modeling deposits and interest income.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when preparing high-stakes financial reports.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional work.
  • Ability to independently manage several deliverables and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of banking, payments, or fintech, including deposit and interest-rate dynamics.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, or comparable data analysis tools.
  • Previous exposure to Investment Committee or board reporting.
