Financial Management Analyst II — Duke University Remote

Support Duke University’s budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, and year-end close activities as a Financial Management Analyst II. Work with departmental financial managers to inform operational and organizational decisions.

Description

  • Prepare financial analyses and reports covering operating budgets, financial statements, statistical data, cost analyses, and related information
  • Help develop accurate annual operating budgets for CAMC departments in accordance with university guidelines
  • Analyze CAMC department finances and produce reports highlighting strategic opportunities, risks, alternatives, and contingencies
  • Support the Director of Budgets and Business Services in coordinating Duke University’s quarterly and annual financial reports for senior management and Board of Trustee review
  • Work with business unit financial managers on financial position, cash flow, accounts, budgets, transactions, and related matters
  • Support year-end close activities for CAMC departments and report significant operating budget variances to the Director
  • Complete special projects and other related duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Three years of experience in financial management, cost accounting, or a directly related specialized field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • CPA certification is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Analysis for Office proficiency is preferred
