Field Service Technician - Lift Trucks - Elgin, IL
Provide field service for Crown and other lift trucks in Elgin, Illinois. The role includes troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, service-van management, and job documentation.
Description
- Diagnose and repair Crown and other manufacturers’ lift trucks
- Complete scheduled maintenance on customer equipment
- Manage the service van and maintain its inventory
- Complete required paperwork after each service call
Requirements
- Under two years of related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to operate lift trucks safely
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines
- Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Effective written and verbal communication with a customer-service focus
- Technical education, lift-truck repair experience, welding experience, and familiarity with testing equipment are preferred
- Familiarity with standard hand tools, electrical and air tools, torches, arc welders, and testing equipment
- Industry-related training is preferred
- Ability to read service manuals, plan work, and follow tasks through to completion
