Field Service Technician – Electromechanical, France

Field service technician installing, repairing, and configuring TOMRA food sorting equipment. Primarily based in Brittany, with work organized from home.

Description

  • Install and commission sorting equipment at customer sites
  • Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting
  • Train operators and maintenance teams
  • Deliver technical guidance and customer advice
  • Represent TOMRA and help maintain high service quality
  • Plan customer visits from a home-based workspace
  • Complete service reports
  • Maintain and update technical documentation
  • Provide remote technical support when needed
  • Work mainly across Brittany and nearby regions
  • Occasionally assist colleagues and customers elsewhere in France

Requirements

  • Higher technical qualification at Bac+2 level or above in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, automation, electronics, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing electrical faults and resolving electromechanical issues
  • Fluent French communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in technical and professional settings
  • Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and industrial equipment repair in customer-facing environments
  • Field service, on-site maintenance, commissioning, installation, or technical support experience is an advantage
  • Solid IT skills, especially PC systems, networks, and configuration
  • Valid Category B driving licence
  • Customer-focused approach, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trusted long-term relationships
