Enterprise GIS Engineer at ERNI — Remote, Philippines

Manage AWS-hosted Enterprise GIS platforms, APIs, and Web-GIS applications in a remote contract role with ERNI. Support production operations and enterprise integrations for global software engineering clients.

Description

  • Administer and maintain AWS-hosted Enterprise GIS environments
  • Monitor performance, availability, security, and capacity across GIS systems
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and security patching
  • Build and support REST APIs, microservices, automation workflows, reports, and Web-GIS applications
  • Enhance the usability, performance, resilience, and maintainability of existing GIS platforms
  • Connect Enterprise GIS solutions with enterprise databases, business applications, and mapping systems
  • Assist with migrating and transitioning GIS applications, dashboards, services, StoryMaps, and datasets
  • Verify that GIS solutions meet enterprise architecture, security, engineering, and deployment requirements
  • Investigate production incidents, handle service requests, and provide technical assistance to users and application owners
  • Take part in Agile practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and team meetings
  • Work with GIS specialists, project teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants
  • Provide backup coverage for the GIS Server Manager and GIS Administrator when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience implementing Enterprise GIS, managing cloud infrastructure, and developing Web-GIS applications
  • Practical experience with Enterprise GIS platforms such as Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoServer, and GeoNode
  • Experience working with AWS or Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Windows Server, and Linux
  • Software development experience with REST APIs, microservices, JavaScript, Python, C#, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS
  • Background in production support, deployments, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch management
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with Scrum, Kanban, and Azure DevOps
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants
  • Preferred: experience in financial services or large enterprise IT environments
  • Preferred: knowledge of enterprise software engineering, cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy standards
  • Preferred: experience connecting GIS platforms to enterprise databases and business applications
  • Preferred: experience migrating ArcGIS applications, dashboards, StoryMaps, services, and GIS datasets
  • Preferred: experience using Datadog
  • Preferred: experience using AI tools or AI agents
  • Preferred: professional certification in Cloud, GIS, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Information Security
  • Must be available during Manila business hours and the client’s business calendar and holidays
