Engineer III, Cloud Authentication and Authorization

Build authentication and authorization services for CrowdStrike’s global cybersecurity platform. Lead distributed backend development using Go, AWS, Kafka, and related technologies.

Description

  • Lead backend engineering from early prototypes through large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products.
  • Build cloud systems that detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at global scale.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams to define and build solutions.
  • Introduce technologies and methods while strengthening the team’s technical expertise.
  • Share knowledge and learn about web, backend, and data storage technologies and systems.
  • Assess products to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability.
  • Own deliverables and remain accountable for results.
  • Use and contribute to open-source projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  • At least 6 years of backend development experience.
  • Ability to scale backend systems through sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering best practices, testing methods, peer code review, and resilient architecture.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, iterative development environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly integrated.
  • Demonstrated use of AI technologies to support decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and achieve business outcomes.
  • Collaborative team approach.
  • Preferred: Authored and led successful open-source libraries or projects.
  • Preferred: Exposure to Go, AWS, GCP, SpiceDB, OpenFGA, Zanzibar, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, or JWT.
  • Preferred: Experience in cybersecurity or intelligence.
