Elementary Teacher - Florida Hybrid

Teach elementary students through live and asynchronous instruction for a tuition-free online public school in Florida. Monitor learning, communicate with families, and participate in required in-person testing and school events.

Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and lead instructor across core subjects and grade levels
  • Pursue student achievement, school culture, and state accountability objectives
  • Teach live web-conference lessons using evidence-based instructional methods
  • Set up courses within the Learning Management System
  • Monitor asynchronous coursework and provide daily feedback and grades
  • Maintain consistent communication and contact records for each student
  • Partner with the Principal on student progress reporting
  • Analyze student data and adapt instructional plans accordingly
  • Differentiate teaching to address varied student needs
  • Apply research-based methods in both synchronous and asynchronous settings
  • Build a positive, caring, and supportive classroom community
  • Use culturally responsive teaching approaches
  • Uphold school-wide culture standards and expectations
  • Keep families informed about students’ academic and social-emotional development
  • Embed 21st-century technology skills in classroom and collaborative work
  • Organize and attend in-person non-instructional activities, social events, and field trips
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Travel each year to support required face-to-face state testing
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Hold a current state teaching license for the appropriate content area
  • Know state standards and Common Core Standards
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Work effectively in a growth-oriented coaching environment involving regular observations, debriefs, action plans, and progress tracking
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
  • Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook, with a high level of proficiency
  • Handle confidential information appropriately
  • Stand for periods of up to 90 minutes
  • Supervise students across all school environments
  • Successfully complete federal and state criminal background checks
  • Experience in a multicultural setting preferred
  • Reside in Florida
  • Travel and attend in person several times each year for state testing and student events
