Electrical Designer II — Salt Lake City, Onsite

ENFRA is seeking an Electrical Designer II to develop electrical drawings, layouts, and calculations for building and energy infrastructure projects. The role also supports multidisciplinary coordination, site surveys, construction observations, and project documentation.

Description

  • Develop electrical system drawings for building projects
  • Perform code reviews and lighting calculations
  • Produce lighting and receptacle layouts, one-line diagrams, and branch circuit, feeder, and service calculations
  • Participate in meetings with owners, clients, and architects, then prepare and distribute meeting records
  • Survey sites to assess existing or proposed facility conditions
  • Coordinate electrical work with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, and other disciplines
  • Join senior staff and project managers on construction visits to evaluate progress and compliance with design documents, owner expectations, and building codes
  • Support the preparation of punch lists and project observation reports
  • Complete technical training and participate in industry organizations and events
  • Support TME’s owner advocacy philosophy and uphold its organizational core values

Requirements

  • Associate or two-year technical degree in an electrical-related field, or 4–5 years of electrical design experience with an engineering or architectural/engineering firm
  • Community college electrical coursework plus 2–4 years of electrician experience with an electrical contractor, or a journeyman electrician license
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Careful attention to detail and willingness to manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong knowledge of the industry and the company’s competitors
  • Excellent multitasking ability, including readiness to handle responsibilities beyond the defined scope when needed
  • Willingness to travel 25% to job sites and office locations
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles
  • Ability to work in confined or tight spaces and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to operate machinery and power tools
  • Ability to perform light to heavy physical work, including moving objects weighing 20–100 pounds
