Database Engineer, DoD Healthcare Systems — Remote

Engineer and administer highly available DoD healthcare databases for MicroTech in a remote role. Support performance, recovery, security, and OCONUS mission readiness.

Description

  • Design and administer database environments for military healthcare applications
  • Monitor performance, resolve database issues, and improve resource utilization
  • Implement and test backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
  • Control approved database changes, access permissions, and data migration work
  • Partner with application and infrastructure teams
  • Keep database configuration and recovery documentation current
  • Support large-scale, highly available DoD healthcare databases for the global MEDEX/MEDXS mission
  • Maintain technical and OCONUS readiness as Government-designated Key Personnel

Requirements

  • Experience administering large-scale, highly available DoD healthcare databases
  • Ability to support database performance, availability, data integrity, and recovery
  • Demonstrated experience managing personnel deployments
  • Experience using the Synchronized Pre-deployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT)
  • Experience coordinating host-nation theater clearance and DOCPER requirements across multiple OCONUS areas of responsibility
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity on the first day of contract performance
  • Assigned DCWF role 421: Database Administrator, Intermediate
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification
  • Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP certification
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Meet applicable DoDM 8140.03 foundational qualifications before independently performing duties involving privileged access or covered cybersecurity functions
  • Be ready for OCONUS deployment on the first day of performance and maintain continuity throughout the assignment
