Credit Analyst I – Canada Remote

Credit Analyst I underwriting working-capital loans for Vault Credit Corporation in Canada. Evaluate borrower risk, analyze financial statements, and recommend lending decisions.

Description

  • Make credit decisions within the authorized credit limit
  • Prepare detailed credit analyses and recommendations for transactions above the Analyst’s credit limit
  • Underwrite borrowers by assessing character, creditworthiness, and financial condition
  • Recommend transaction structures, terms, conditions, security, and covenants
  • Use research, financial analysis, and statistical analysis to evaluate creditworthiness and limit risk exposure
  • Spread and review business financial statements and tax returns
  • Evaluate commercial and consumer credit bureau scores
  • Follow corporate credit policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with senior leadership
  • Identify process improvements and develop creative solutions
  • Analyze delinquency causes and potential resolutions
  • Track market developments and industry issues
  • Handle ad hoc requests as needed

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of business credit underwriting and risk management experience in financial services
  • Post-secondary education focused on business and finance
  • Availability to work from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM PST
  • Strong understanding of commercial business structures
  • Familiarity with suitable financing options and techniques
  • Sound knowledge of business financial statements, business cases, bank statement analysis, and cash flow analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial lending security documentation, including collection, workout techniques, and remedies
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Strong credit writing skills
  • Ability to identify and quantify subtle business risks and their key drivers
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workloads, meet deadlines, and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated
