Commodities and Logistics Coordinator - London Hybrid

Coordinate recyclate sales, purchasing, and domestic and international logistics for Veolia’s UK resource-recovery operations. Manage documentation, customer and supplier queries, compliance activities, and KPI reporting.

Description

  • Manage the sale and purchase of secondary commodities, mainly recyclates and products from Veolia’s UK sites
  • Process sales activities accurately and within required deadlines
  • Plan and coordinate domestic and international logistics, including export shipments
  • Work with Veolia sites and external customers on stock control, service requests, and operational matters
  • Source and manage transport subcontractors
  • Monitor customer service and communications, resolving issues as they arise
  • Handle supplier and customer invoice disputes and queries
  • Provide customers with accurate duty of care, waste compliance, and export documentation
  • Provide business-critical cover for the other Commodities and Logistics Coordinator
  • Prepare ad hoc management information and support monthly KPI reporting

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Prior logistics and office experience with regular customer interaction
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service capabilities
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Ability to work quickly and under pressure while maintaining a disciplined, professional approach
  • Ability to collaborate while taking individual responsibility for assigned customers or Veolia facilities
  • IT proficiency, including intermediate Google Sheets skills
  • Confidence using stock-control and reporting systems
  • Sound understanding of compliance standards, duty of care, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in waste management or recycling, negotiation skills, and language skills supporting overseas logistics and customer communication are desirable
