Civil Engineer, Site Design at Olsson (Hybrid)
Support CAD-based site design for Olsson’s land development and engineering projects. Prepare plans, calculations, schedules, reports, and site observations.
Description
- Create basic CAD designs for mixed-use, commercial, residential, industrial, sports, school, and other site development projects
- Guide drafters in producing design drawings
- Prepare project schedules and supporting documentation
- Produce basic plans and complete limited-scope design calculations
- Build proficiency with design and modeling software
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and designers on non-routine methods and procedures
- Research technical issues, recommend solutions, and prepare technical reports
- Travel to project sites to perform observations
- Mentor student interns in foundational technical skills and knowledge
- Maintain project and client records in the project management system
Requirements
- Communicate effectively in professional settings
- Contribute productively within a team
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Possess an Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certificate
- Have at least two years of related civil engineering design experience
- Know AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is an advantage
- Be able to travel for in-office activities, client meetings, and site visits as needed
