Business Analyst, Rate Implementation — Guardian Life

Support Guardian Life’s group-insurance rate calculation platforms through rate implementation, testing, issue resolution, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.

Description

  • Join status calls, troubleshooting discussions, and project meetings spanning multiple business and functional teams
  • Serve as the rate calculation and rate-table subject matter expert for Product, Quality Assurance, and Development teams
  • Help design test scenarios and support user acceptance and production-release testing
  • Maintain Mainframe and OpenL rate tables for product filings and project enhancements
  • Investigate reported production problems and provide end users with defect resolutions or manual workarounds
  • Assess customer needs and business demand to align analyst capacity and capabilities
  • Build working knowledge across business, technical, and project-management functions
  • Cultivate stakeholder relationships to gather information and understand their priorities
  • Contribute to planning sessions that improve Rate Calculation technology platforms
  • Support project planning and testing activities
  • Implement rates supplied by Pricing actuaries
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify affected areas and maintain alignment
  • Report to the Manager of the Rate Implementation team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in a similar position
  • Working knowledge of group-insurance strategies, products, and processes
  • Experience with underwriting, rating, or quoting platforms such as GCRS, CPS, GTAB, or OpenL is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, JIRA, Tableau, and/or Confluence is preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to work professionally across organizational levels
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
