Bilingual Housing Planner (Spanish) - Remote, United States

Develop countywide housing plans and needs assessments for AlphaGov’s public-sector consulting clients. Lead Spanish-English community engagement and help shape fair-housing strategies.

Description

  • Organize and lead Spanish-English public meetings, pop-up events, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews for county and city housing plans.
  • Use ARC Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP) and Asset-Based Community Development approaches while coordinating with ARC staff and community-based organizations.
  • Assess fair-housing conditions, including segregation, opportunity mapping, and zoning barriers, then develop equity-focused housing strategies and indicators.
  • Support the design of emergency and transitional housing frameworks and referral pathways with Continuum of Care partners.
  • Translate and tailor surveys and public-facing materials, checking each for plain language and cultural relevance.
  • Write sections of housing needs assessments, strategic housing plans, and implementation matrices.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in housing planning, community development, urban planning, or public-agency community engagement.
  • Experience contributing to at least one housing study, housing plan, consolidated plan, or comprehensive plan.
  • Professional written and spoken fluency in Spanish and English, or deep expertise in fair housing or homelessness systems.
  • Experience leading public meetings with diverse and underserved communities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
  • Experience working with the Atlanta Regional Commission, Georgia DCA, or an Atlanta-metro county or city.
  • AICP certification.
  • Experience with AFFH, Analysis of Impediments, or HUD fair-housing planning.
  • Experience with Continuum of Care, HMIS, or coordinated entry systems.
  • Skills in GIS and data visualization using ArcGIS, Tableau, or Power BI.
