Actuarial Analyst, Hybrid - Richfield, Ohio

Support actuarial modeling, pricing, risk analysis, and reporting for National Interstate’s commercial transportation insurance business. This hybrid Richfield role partners with underwriting, finance, and product development teams.

Description

  • Support the development and maintenance of actuarial models for risk assessment and pricing
  • Examine datasets for trends and develop initial insights to support business decisions
  • Produce clear, accurate actuarial reports
  • Help explain actuarial methods and findings to non-technical audiences
  • Work with underwriting, finance, and product development teams
  • Contribute to projects involving multiple business functions
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and help implement approved changes
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline
  • At least six months of actuarial experience
  • One or more completed exams toward Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS)
  • Working knowledge of actuarial methods and techniques
  • Strong analytical ability with experience using data to inform decisions
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Awareness of regulatory developments and industry trends
  • Ongoing eligibility for the Actuarial Student Program and continued progress toward Fellowship are expected for advancement
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
