Active ETF Portfolio Management Solutions Architect, Vice President

Build algorithms, workflows, and infrastructure for BlackRock’s active ETF primary-market platform. Work with portfolio managers, engineering, and capital markets teams.

Description

  • Design and oversee technology and infrastructure for the ETF primary platform.
  • Create scalable active ETF investment processes for multiple investment teams.
  • Build algorithms for research, pre-trade analytics, portfolio construction, workflow automation, and investment controls.
  • Develop tools for both prototyping and production use.
  • Create reporting and analytics to assess improvements from new tools.
  • Work with BGM Architecture teams to develop shared libraries and components.
  • Help portfolio managers embed and refine primary platform capabilities in their daily workflows.
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering to align the primary platform with product commercial objectives.
  • Work with Capital Markets to support Liquidity Provider operating models and improve fund market quality.
  • Partner with Aladdin Financial Engineering on predictive analytics and optimization solutions.
  • Work with BlackRock Technology teams to advance the core Algo Platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering, or computer science.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Python development expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of active investment research and portfolio management processes across sectors or asset classes.
  • Working knowledge of fixed income or equity markets.
  • Working knowledge of ETFs as investment vehicles.
  • Familiarity with varied fund types and investment styles, including index and active, fundamental and quantitative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a process-oriented approach.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience managing technically focused projects.
  • Knowledge of BlackRock Aladdin tools.
  • Ability to work accurately and attentively on varied, complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
