Accounting Manager Central Europe Poland Hybrid

Lead statutory accounting, tax governance, and regulatory reporting for a security technology distribution business across Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Maintain compliant financial controls and entity governance across Central Europe.

Description

  • Prepare, review, and file statutory financial statements for all entities in scope
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal controls
  • Review and approve key balance-sheet reconciliations, accounting entries, and local GAAP adjustments
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including financial reviews
  • Maintain effective legal-entity governance
  • Oversee local direct and indirect tax compliance, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory filings
  • Coordinate transfer-pricing reports, tax documentation, and related declarations
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for tax audits, regulatory inspections, and government enquiries
  • Track legislative changes and implement new requirements, including e-invoicing and digital tax reporting initiatives
  • Complete and submit central-bank, statistical-office, and other government reports on time
  • Manage recurring and ad hoc regulatory filings and respond to local-authority requests
  • Act as the main contact for external statutory auditors
  • Support internal audits and address audit findings
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks
  • Maintain governance processes and support SOX compliance requirements
  • Work with Treasury on local banking, payment approvals, and cash management
  • Oversee import VAT, customs accounting, and country-specific finance requirements
  • Support local invoice processing, accounting operations, and compliance-related transactions
  • Lead and contribute to finance transformation work, including ERP implementations and process-improvement projects
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders on acquisitions, restructurings, legal-entity changes, and business integrations
  • Provide in-country expertise on accounting, tax, and statutory compliance matters
  • Report to the International Controller and collaborate with a Senior Accountant

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in controllership, financial reporting, accounting, or audit, preferably in a multinational organization or Big Four firm
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, statutory reporting, and tax compliance requirements
  • Experience overseeing audits, regulatory reporting, and legal-entity compliance across multiple countries
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management capabilities
  • Fluent English and Polish
  • Proficiency with SAP or another ERP, Hyperion, and Excel
  • German or Dutch language skills are highly advantageous
  • Ability to explain complex analysis clearly
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Sound judgment when resolving complex transactions
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
