Senior Optical Engineering Specialist – Fort Wayne Onsite

- Test and align complex optical systems in a laboratory setting
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives
- Coordinate assigned tasks and maintain technical documentation
- Record processes, communicate technical information, and support effective collaboration
- Troubleshoot systems and verify requirements for compliance and performance
- Apply hands-on testing to support optical design and modeling activities
- Receive, clean, and inspect optical components
- Contribute practical laboratory findings to system trade studies and vendor evaluations
- Support onsite aerospace programs using imaging systems across UV to LWIR
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience, or at least 10 years of related experience in place of a degree
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience aligning, testing, and inspecting optical systems, preferably remote-sensing infrared and visible space-qualified systems
- Experience using Zemax and/or Code V for optical design and analysis
- Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance
- Preferred: Experience using MATLAB for data analysis and test-process automation
- Preferred: Familiarity with FRED or comparable stray-light analysis software
- Preferred: Experience designing and manufacturing metalenses
- Preferred: Experience applying generative AI to optical-system analysis
- Preferred: Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
