Senior Java Backend Engineer (AWS) – Illinois Remote
Lead the development and modernization of cloud-native AWS applications as a Java backend engineer. Shape Spring Boot, OpenSearch, CI/CD, and engineering practices while providing technical leadership across teams.

- Provide technical leadership and delivery ownership for engineers building and operating scalable AWS cloud applications
- Lead delivery of business-critical software applications
- Set technical direction and define architectural standards
- Advance AWS cloud adoption and modernization programs
- Guide architecture and solution design across Spring Boot microservices, OpenSearch, CI/CD, observability, and AWS infrastructure
- Protect application scalability, performance, security, and reliability
- Advance DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development practices
- Contribute to incident resolution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, product teams, platform teams, and other stakeholders
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team
- Connect technology investments to business priorities and drive successful execution
आवश्यकताएँ
- Professional experience developing Java backend systems
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems
- Experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, IAM, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager
- Experience working with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, GitHub, observability, DevOps, and infrastructure as code
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, event-driven architecture, API integration, and performance optimization
- Experience designing cloud architectures and supporting AWS adoption and modernization
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools
- Strong technical leadership, communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, coaching, collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, ownership, conflict resolution, and adaptability
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and deliver complex cloud-native solutions
- Background in automotive, Java, Lucid, or OpenSearch is relevant
- The role emphasizes backend engineering rather than a front-end-heavy full-stack focus on Angular, React, and TypeScript
