Lead Medicaid analytics, evaluation, and policy research at West Virginia University, while mentoring analysts and working with state health officials.

- Mentor analysts under the direction of the Director of Health Analytics.
- Manage analyst training by identifying needs and coordinating training modules with the PDMO.
- Assess data risks and address data quality or security concerns.
- Troubleshoot unexpected data issues and results, and recommend solutions.
- Advise on statistical methods and analytical study design.
- Conduct advanced statistical analyses with guidance from the Director of Health Analytics.
- Advise and support teams on data analysis, visualization practices, and technology.
- Lead the preparation of detailed reports using sound visualization and statistical practices.
- Join senior stakeholder meetings to identify priorities and develop solutions.
- Establish quality assurance processes and protocols.
- Represent HAI and serve as its liaison to the West Virginia Department of Health Services.
- Coordinate communication and collaboration between HAI research partners and department staff.
- Ensure analytics, research, and evaluation comply with HAI, university, federal, and state policies.
- Advise faculty and government partners on proposals, methodology, analytics, and interpretation of findings.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration between the Health Sciences Center and the state health department.
- Prepare reports for the university, Health Sciences Center leadership, and external agencies.
- Share analytical and program evaluation findings with relevant department staff.
- Carry out or oversee special projects.
- Take on other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Health Analytics.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Master’s degree in a health-related field.
- At least three years of experience.
- Research record and demonstrated achievement in health outcomes and policy research, including publications and an ongoing research program.
- Experience conducting research or evaluation in academic and government settings.
- Knowledge of Medicaid claims data.
- Understanding of eligibility, facility header, facility detail, and professional files.
- Experience delivering in-house training.
- Extensive experience using large health databases for research, program evaluation, and policy development.
- Demonstrated accomplishments in health data analytics.
- Ability to explain research goals, methods, and findings to key stakeholders.
- Proficiency with standard software such as SAS or R.
- Knowledge of mortality data.
- Training and facilitation skills.
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance, especially HIPAA and access to and storage of PHI.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel occasionally when required.
