Senior Database Administrator
Support a European Union security agency’s mission-critical databases, working with MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, high availability, and disaster recovery in air-gapped environments.

- Administer sensitive production databases in high-security environments
- Manage MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes database systems
- Operate databases in on-premises, air-gapped environments
- Manage containerised systems with databases and stateful datasets
- Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions
- Monitor, analyse, and optimise database performance
- Use conceptual and physical data modelling, including normalisation and entity-attribute-relationship design
- Contribute to complex enterprise architectures and advanced ICT solutions, including microservices
- Apply ITIL processes in complex IT environments
- Collaborate with a professional team serving a European Union security agency

- At least 8 years of professional experience administering systems in complex enterprise environments, including large-scale ICT systems
- At least 6 years administering sensitive, mission-critical production databases in high-security environments
- At least 5 years administering MariaDB or MySQL databases
- At least 5 years of PostgreSQL experience
- At least 2 years administering databases with Kubernetes
- All required experience must be in on-premises, air-gapped environments
- Knowledge of containerised environments with databases and stateful datasets
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery in containerised environments
- Knowledge of monitoring, analysing, and optimising database performance in containerised environments
- Knowledge of conceptual and physical data modelling, normalisation, and entity-attribute-relationship design
- Knowledge of complex enterprise architectures and advanced ICT solution design, including microservices
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with Azure or AWS
- Preferred: at least 3 years of experience with HAProxy, Patroni, Galera, or MaxScale
- Preferred: database administration experience with Neo4j, Milvus, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Preferred: VMware virtualisation experience
- Preferred: experience with Microsoft SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clusters
- Preferred: experience with ETL, OLAP, and Power BI
- Preferred: experience with Puppet, Azure DevOps/TFS, Flyway, Bash, PowerShell, and Terraform
- Knowledge of Agile methods, data centre and infrastructure technologies, security, storage, networking, service management, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
