Senior Civil Engineer – Substations
Senior civil engineer role focused on designing substation foundations, steel structures, towers, and layouts for Qualus, a power infrastructure solutions company. Apply engineering codes, quality controls, and client standards across utility projects.
विवरण
- Design and detail mat and pier foundations for substation structures
- Engineer substation structures ranging from equipment supports to overhead line towers
- Complete substation design work as project requirements dictate
- Apply applicable codes and client standards to develop general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevations, grading and fencing plans, foundation plans and details, rigid bus arrangements, structure details, and bills of material
- Create conceptual design plans during the early development phase of new projects
- Collaborate with renewable energy developers and other clients on schedules and cost estimates
- Design foundations with commercially available software, including LPILE
- Build steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports
- Carry out company quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Build and sustain professional relationships with external business partners
- Present technical information and address client questions
- Lead or contribute to client meetings and site visits to gather or provide design and engineering information
- Coach less experienced staff in technical and project management practices
- Coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 8–10 years of experience completing civil structural engineering calculations
- At least 7 years of substation engineering experience
- Experience with drafting tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred
- Professional Engineering certificate
- Experience with transmission, distribution, and generating stations is preferred
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Ability to select the software needed to complete required design work
