Senior AWS Platform Architect - United States Remote
Design secure, scalable AWS platforms for Modivcare’s healthcare transportation services. Build Pulumi infrastructure while guiding delivery, governance, and compliance.

- Define enterprise cloud-native architecture patterns spanning AWS compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and AI/ML workloads.
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, guardrails, and reference architectures.
- Assess AWS services, infrastructure-as-code approaches, and platform capabilities to guide build, buy, or configure decisions.
- Design multi-account AWS organizations, landing zones, and network topologies that support HIPAA, SOC 2, and other healthcare compliance needs.
- Create cost-efficient, right-sized infrastructure guided by FinOps principles.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Pulumi in TypeScript or Python, using AWS CDK when appropriate.
- Prototype complete cloud infrastructure for new initiatives.
- Contribute production-ready Pulumi stacks to infrastructure-as-code repositories.
- Support engineering delivery by reviewing pull requests, resolving infrastructure decisions, and maintaining architectural fidelity through deployment.
- Prepare handoff materials including architecture diagrams, infrastructure-as-code repositories, runbooks, security and compliance documentation, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide technical direction to the offshore Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions Delivery Architect.
- Partner with the Director of Architecture on cloud strategy, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
- Work with business stakeholders to convert workload needs into cloud architecture recommendations.
- Share architecture patterns, lead cloud-focused guilds or working groups, and strengthen team cloud capabilities.
- Track AWS service updates and healthcare compliance changes, communicating relevant impacts to architecture and engineering leadership.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible cloud architecture or engineering experience, including substantial recent work designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise AWS platforms, including multi-account strategies, cloud governance, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience developing cloud platforms in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
- Experience working within embedded architecture or product delivery teams is preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification is preferred.
- Experience with AWS CDK, AI/ML infrastructure, healthcare data platforms, and FinOps tools is preferred.
- Expertise across AWS compute, networking, storage, and security services.
- Advanced understanding of cloud-native architecture, enterprise platform design, and multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
- Strong command of infrastructure as code, including Pulumi with TypeScript or Python, AWS CDK, Git-based workflows, modular architecture, state management, policy as code, and drift detection.
- Ability to design, prototype, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance, and architecture practices, including HIPAA, SOC 2, or comparable frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud migration, platform modernization, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Ability to assess emerging cloud technologies, tools, and services and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and technical decision-making abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create architecture documentation, technical standards, and implementation guidance.
