Senior Airworthiness Certification Engineer
At Boeing, lead airworthiness and software certification for military aircraft programs, including regulatory engagement and compliance strategy. The onsite role supports enterprise aerospace programs and may require travel of up to 25%.

- Oversee airworthiness work for an active military program in the United States or internationally.
- Assist with program audits conducted by foreign airworthiness authorities.
- Track program costs and schedules, and help owners resolve certification questions.
- Create software certification strategies aligned with MIL-HDBK-516C Section 15, EMAR 21, DO-178, and applicable regulations.
- Coach DO-178 certification verification engineers and colleagues in other disciplines.
- Contribute to industry standards development and benchmarking.
- Direct regulator engagement on complex programs and shape certification plans and activities.
- Work with regulatory authorities to complete airworthiness validation.
- Advise the delegated approval organization on technical support, training, tools, and resources.
- Review and provide guidance on compliance reports and documentation.
- Lead and recommend global approaches to regulatory advocacy, training, tools, and methods.
- Provide senior technical guidance across the enterprise on aerospace regulatory compliance programs and projects.
- Deliver regular progress updates and performance metrics to executive leaders.
- Travel up to 25% to support multiple programs.

- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualification.
- Level 4 requires at least 9 years of experience in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of airworthiness experience.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance; the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship for clearance eligibility.
- U.S. Person status is required for compliance with U.S. export controls.
- The employer does not sponsor employment visas.
- Experience with aircraft certification, including FAA, MIL-HDBK-516, or EMAR requirements.
- Experience with FAA and/or EMAR 21 processes.
- Experience with certification and airworthiness compliance processes.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to meet demanding schedules.
- Experience leading or managing projects and/or teams.
- Experience leading a large project or program using project management tools and processes.
- Level 5 requires at least 14 years of experience in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field.
