  • Partner with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions
  • Guide developers, data analysts, and data scientists across machine learning, distributed microservices, lakehouse architecture, and full-stack systems
  • Develop with Python and Spark alongside open-source relational and NoSQL databases, Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud data warehouses
  • Track emerging data practices, test new technologies, contribute to technology communities, and mentor data professionals
  • Work with product managers and software engineers to deliver cloud-first data solutions serving millions of Americans
  • Independently design, build, and deliver cloud data applications and solutions
  • Establish and uphold data engineering patterns that promote code quality, maintainability, and reuse
  • Explain technical concepts and data results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Build scalable, resilient, and operationally efficient data pipelines and platforms
  • Apply data security controls such as encryption and fine-grained access management while maintaining privacy compliance

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative discipline, such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, or engineering
  • At least four years of application development experience, excluding internships
  • At least two years of experience working with distributed data
  • At least two years of SQL experience
  • At least two years of experience with Python, Java, or Scala
  • At least two years of experience designing and developing data pipelines
  • At least one year of experience in data modeling and end-to-end data solution design across relational and non-relational databases
  • Capital One does not currently sponsor new employment authorization applicants or provide immigration-related support for this position
  • Preferred qualifications include seven or more years of application development, four or more years in public cloud environments, distributed data or compute workloads, real-time or streaming pipelines, data observability or orchestration tools, NoSQL databases, data warehousing, Agile development, and reusable data products
