Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel (Remote, Serbia)
Lead Whizz’s legal function and oversee compliance, contracts, litigation, and debt recovery. Support the company’s US e-bike subscription business as it expands.
Tavsif
- Deliver ongoing legal support across the business
- Draft and review commercial agreements and customer terms
- Advise company leadership on legal and regulatory issues
- Safeguard company interests, minimize payment disputes, and support recovery of debts and property
- Support product launches and market expansion while maintaining compliance with local laws
- Lead debt recovery cases, including demand letters, payment negotiations, and litigation against delinquent customers
- Manage litigation and commercial disputes
- Prepare court filings and represent the company when authorized, or coordinate with external counsel
- Enforce judgments and settlements to recover unpaid debts and company property
- Liaise with law enforcement and regulators regarding suspected fraud, theft, or unreturned property
- Partner with finance and operations to prioritize cases, organize evidence, and monitor legal expenses and recovery outcomes
Talablar
- Demonstrated senior legal experience in a startup or high-growth company, combined with strong project management skills
- Able to independently assess legal issues, research applicable law thoroughly, and provide clear, practical guidance in unfamiliar areas
- Proactive and resourceful, with the confidence to pursue answers, clarify ambiguity, and escalate issues when necessary
- Highly skilled at finding, analyzing, and interpreting legal and regulatory information through public databases and direct engagement with regulatory authorities
