Operate as a remote pilot in SAIC’s FAA air traffic control training simulator, supporting medium- and high-fidelity exercises at the Fairbanks ATCT/TRACON facility.
Tavsif
- Perform pilot and controller roles in an air traffic controller training simulator
- Operate simulated radar displays and voice communication systems
- Recreate pilot actions and remote ATC facility communications during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises
- Receive voice instructions from student controllers
- Record the required actions in the automated system to reproduce pilot activity
- Convert displayed information into accurate air traffic control terminology
- Answer students through the Voice Communication System using appropriate phraseology
- Earn Classroom certification by passing an assessment on airspace and procedures
- Earn Lab certification by operating as a Remote Pilot Operator in every position
- Contribute to FAA air traffic controller training services at the Fairbanks ATCT/TRACON facility
Talablar
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals
- Clear, understandable verbal communication
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance
- Multidisciplinary teamwork experience preferred
- ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation lab experience and certification strongly preferred but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65 strongly preferred but not required
- Effective team-building abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Basic familiarity with current technology such as tablets, notebooks, and applications
- Basic familiarity with or experience in pilot-controller communications or phraseology
