Audit Director, Risk and Finance

Lead Barclays’ Risk and Finance audit team and plan, providing independent control assurance and regulatory insight to senior stakeholders.

Tavsif

  • Lead the BIA BE Risk and Finance team.
  • Build independent stakeholder relationships through close work with Risk and Finance functions.
  • Develop and deliver the Risk and Finance audit plan in line with BIA methodology and quality standards.
  • Help deliver the BIA Audit Plan.
  • Provide key stakeholders with assurance on the control environment.
  • Support audits covering financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
  • Identify operational risks through assessments.
  • Evaluate internal controls and their alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Share findings and recommendations with Audit Owners, senior managers and directors.
  • Track regulatory developments and industry trends, offering timely insight and good-practice recommendations.
  • Manage a business function and contribute to its strategic initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Lead a large team or sub-function, or direct organisation-wide projects as a technical expert.
  • Train, guide and coach less experienced specialists.
  • Oversee resourcing, budgets and policy development for a significant sub-function.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Monitor and influence the external regulatory environment.
  • Advise senior management and committees as an expert.
  • Negotiate with and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the main contact for key clients and counterparts across functions and business divisions.
  • Represent the function and business division as a spokesperson.

Talablar

  • Bring deep, extensive knowledge of Risk and Finance.
  • Have prior experience in risk and controls, preferably in an audit setting.
  • Have prior experience managing regulatory matters.
  • Communicate exceptionally well, including with senior subject matter experts.
  • Understand the changing regulatory environment for Risk and Finance.
  • Demonstrate a record of building and developing subject matter expert teams.
  • Work across risk disciplines with a strong grasp of end-to-end risk management.
  • Show a track record of managing senior stakeholders.
  • Hold a qualification in Finance, Treasury, Capital, Liquidity or Risk.
  • Have a strong understanding of risk and controls.
  • Have experience leading others on audit assignments.
  • Show initiative and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
  • Be able to oversee timely delivery of high-quality analytical work independently.
  • Have audit experience (preferred).
  • Have experience in a global, customer-focused, matrix organisation (preferred).
  • Have developed strategy for an internal audit or similar risk and controls function (preferred).
  • Have delivered audits or similar risk and controls reports and provided independent advisory services (preferred).
  • Have worked with UK, European and US regulators and audited against their requirements (preferred).
