Associate Electrical Engineer – Federal Design (Remote, United States)

Support electrical design for federal facilities and infrastructure projects as an Associate Electrical Engineer. Olsson delivers engineering, design, advisory, planning, field, and environmental services.

Tavsif

  • Support electrical system planning and design for federal facilities and infrastructure projects
  • Assist with power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety system designs
  • Complete engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under the guidance of licensed engineers
  • Apply electrical engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Use Revit, AutoCAD, and other tools for electrical modeling and analysis
  • Support project scheduling, design coordination, and collaboration across disciplines
  • Research federal design criteria and propose solutions to technical challenges
  • Create and update project information in project management systems
  • Travel to project sites and federal installations for design development, construction, and coordination activities

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a power concentration
  • At least one year of engineering, internship, or equivalent academic project experience, preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe, preferred
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles for building and facility systems
  • Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32, or comparable tools
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical building systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to travel and perform occasional field work as needed
