Senior Software Engineer, Python and AWS
Contract role building cloud-native solutions with Python and AWS for an insurance technology team. Improve CI/CD, infrastructure automation, distributed systems, and production reliability.
Opis
- Analyze processes and development workflows, identify pain points, and recommend improvements to operational efficiency.
- Contribute to technical documentation, standards, reusable frameworks, and implementation templates.
- Work with cross-functional Agile teams to plan, build, test, and deliver software.
- Use Jira and Confluence to organize work, track progress, document requirements, and coordinate with colleagues.
- Apply source control practices with Git, Bitbucket, GitFlow, and Trunk-Based Development.
- Build, test, and maintain applications in Python and Java.
- Review code to uphold quality, maintainability, security, and engineering standards.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
- Support infrastructure automation, provisioning, and configuration management with Terraform and Ansible.
- Help develop distributed systems and microservices applications.
- Build scalable, reliable, and secure solutions with cloud-native technologies and AWS services.
- Diagnose production issues, find root causes, and implement preventive fixes.
- Advance engineering practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Turn business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.
Zahteve
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or application development.
- Experience building applications with Python and/or Java.
- Experience conducting code reviews and applying sound engineering practices.
- Strong Python proficiency.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, API Gateway, and serverless fundamentals.
- Experience with Git and Bitbucket, including source control, branching strategies, and collaborative coding.
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Harness.
- Strong grasp of Agile methods and experience on Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and collaboration.
- Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices design.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automation.
- Knowledge of modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Preact.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
Ugodnosti
- Contract runs for 3.5 months, ending December 15, 2026.
- Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
- Weekday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Work is primarily remote.
- On-site attendance is expected one to two days per quarter.
