Senior Software Engineer, Payments Platform — Airbnb
Build Airbnb’s global payments platform, from highly available services to customer-facing features. Partner across teams to deliver reliable payment experiences and improve the systems behind them.
Opis
- Design and build Airbnb’s next-generation Payments Platform.
- Develop scalable, highly available systems for high-volume daily transactions.
- Deliver reliable, well-instrumented services and product features from start to finish.
- Create modular, observable backend services with clear APIs.
- Work with product managers, data scientists, and operations to turn business needs into product features.
- Guide features from ideation and planning through implementation and A/B testing.
- Configure and improve monitoring and alerts to strengthen system quality and reliability.
- Write thoroughly tested, high-quality code and review teammates’ work.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Airbnb to improve technical foundations and engineering practices.
Zahteve
- At least five years of backend software engineering experience, ideally in payments or fintech.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
- Experience with microservices, including RPC frameworks, service IDLs, and dependency injection.
- Familiarity with React or a comparable JavaScript framework.
- Experience with architecture for large-scale web applications, including well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, and efficient algorithms.
- Experience delivering products end to end, including A/B testing.
- Commitment to code quality, automated testing, and sound engineering practices.
- Strong communication and attention to detail, with experience working across functions.
- Ability to make data-informed decisions and explain technical tradeoffs clearly.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
