Actuarial Coordinator Intern — Hybrid, Tampa
Support Avalon Healthcare Solutions’ diagnostic analytics with claims, savings, and IBNR analysis. The role is remote with quarterly travel to Tampa, Florida.
Opis
- Monitor monthly savings for health plans
- Analyze claims data, including per-member-per-month spending and savings
- Respond to actuarial questions from internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare incurred-but-not-reported (IBNR) data and explain its revenue impact
- Help reconcile health plan data and investigate outstanding items
- Gather supporting documents for financial reporting requests
- Keep actuarial records and files organized
- Compile, check, and accurately enter actuarial data
- Provide administrative support to the Actuarial Department
- Work with colleagues on daily actuarial operations and assigned projects
- Report to the Senior Vice President of Actuarial
Zahteve
- Use Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Demonstrate analytical ability to collect, organize, analyze, and share data accurately and with attention to detail
- Manage time and stay organized while prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Be pursuing a degree in actuarial science or a related field
- Have passed at least one actuarial exam
- Be on track to take additional actuarial exams while pursuing the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
