Senior Java Engineer — Remote in Uruguay
Build Java APIs, integrations, and decoupled services for high-impact IUGO projects. Work with AWS, containers, observability, and AI-assisted development.
Descriere
- Design and evolve robust internal and partner-facing Java REST APIs, with sound error handling and security
- Implement and extend integrations, including HTTP clients, request and response mapping, idempotency, and retries where appropriate
- Contribute to service-level technical decisions about module structure, data consistency, and performance bottlenecks
- Work with AWS and containers such as Docker and Kubernetes, or the orchestration tools used by the project
- Build and maintain domain-separated services, collaborating with other teams when workflows cross boundaries
- Improve production system observability through structured logs, metrics, and traces
- Optimize performance and stability when needed
- Apply artificial intelligence to development, coding, testing, and automation
Cerințe
- Strong Java skills with Spring Boot or an equivalent framework, and a clear track record building APIs
- Hands-on production experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform
- Experience with containers such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools
- Experience designing REST APIs and consuming third-party APIs
- Production observability experience with ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools
- Technical judgment to design solutions and discuss trade-offs in integration contexts
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and deliver end-to-end with quality
- Experience with medium- to high-complexity systems involving concurrency, distributed integrations, and consistency
- Willingness to give and receive technical feedback
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and automation, or a proactive interest in developing these skills
