Java and C++ Software Engineering Intern – Surveillance Simulation

Thales is seeking an intern to build Java and C++ simulation tools for aerospace testing and operator training. The role focuses on message editors and systems supporting air-surveillance operations.

Descriere

  • Build and improve applications that support aerospace-system testing and operator training
  • Help strengthen the dependability of air operations and radar command-and-control platforms
  • Learn a simulation environment containing multiple Java graphical interfaces and a C++ server
  • Develop working knowledge of the ASTERIX information-exchange standard used in air surveillance
  • Take responsibility for the message editor embedded in the Java interface
  • Help introduce additional functionality to the message editor
  • Partner with UX/UI specialists to refine the user experience
  • Prepare interface mockups, implement approved designs, and take part in peer reviews
  • Work first from the Massy location and later from the Vélizy-Villacoublay location

Cerințe

  • Working toward a Master’s-level qualification in computer science or a comparable discipline
  • Available for a six-month internship
  • Strong command of Java 8
  • Strong command of C++
  • Practical experience with Git, Linux, Bash, and Microsoft Office
  • An interest in working with IntelliJ and CLion
  • An interest in Maven and CMake
  • A curious, self-directed, detail-conscious, and proactive working style
  • Security clearance will be required if the role provides access to information classified as a national defense secret
