Director of Finance - United States Remote
Lead accounting, forecasting, cash management, controls, and financial reporting as Efficient Computer’s first dedicated finance hire. Build scalable finance operations for the company’s energy-efficient semiconductor technology.
Descriere
- Lead Efficient Computer’s finance and accounting operations as its first dedicated finance hire
- Partner with the VP of Operations, CEO, department leaders, external accountants, auditors, and legal counsel
- Create a consistent and dependable month-end close process
- Improve visibility into cash balances and committed spending
- Monitor departmental budgets and expenditure
- Manage the operating model, annual budget, rolling forecast, departmental budgets, and variance analysis
- Oversee accounting, tax, and compliance across the general ledger, revenue recognition, inventory and cost accounting, payroll, payables, receivables, billing, collections, R&D tax credits, Section 174 treatment, sales tax, and multi-state obligations
- Forecast cash and oversee treasury, banking, insurance, capital commitments, debt facilities, and financing diligence
- Set the finance systems roadmap and maintain controls, approval workflows, documentation, and audit readiness
- Produce board and investor financial reports
- Support equity administration, 409A updates, and cap table activities
- Develop a scalable finance organization and prepare it for growth
Cerințe
- Bring 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, including ownership of both the close and forecasting processes
- Have experience in a capital-intensive business, such as semiconductors or another industry where major commitments precede revenue
- Have worked in a fast-paced startup, ideally as an early or first finance hire
- Be effective working independently without an established finance team
- Demonstrate success strengthening finance operations without impeding company momentum
- Communicate clearly with engineers, executives, and board members
- Be willing and able to handle hands-on financial work
- Semiconductor or hardware experience is preferred but not required
- CPA certification is a bonus
- Experience leading a company’s first audit is a bonus
- Experience implementing finance systems is a bonus
- Experience preparing a company for IPO-track or acquisition-level reporting rigor is a bonus
