Lead cost management and project controls for complex infrastructure programs in a hybrid Sydney role. Advise clients across cost, risk, commercial management, and project delivery.

Descriere

  • Manage cost control across complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and interdependencies
  • Improve cost management standards in line with governance requirements and delegated authority
  • Monitor variances through monthly integration of schedules and risk management
  • Control budgets through disciplined forecasting and change management
  • Advise on financial controls and cost matters related to contract management
  • Support variation management, contractor payments, and invoice dispute resolution
  • Prepare and present cost reports, KPI updates, and commentary on variances
  • Develop cost plans covering cost flow and cash flow
  • Review systems, processes, and procedures to support continuous improvement
  • Identify, manage, and reduce current and potential cost pressures
  • Promote value for money and identify opportunities to reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate allocation of actual project costs
  • Apply Earned Value Management and other performance measurement methods to assess performance
  • Provide regular updates on project, program, issue, and priority status
  • Work with project owners, contractors, and infrastructure investors across energy, water, transport, resources, and data-centre sectors
  • Partner with experienced practitioners to solve complex project challenges and support client advisory and project delivery

Cerințe

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, finance, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
  • Extensive demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex rail, transport infrastructure, and oil and gas projects
  • Experience designing and delivering integrated project controls
  • Background maintaining effective project controls aligned with leading practice
  • Experience analysing schedules, risk management, and change control and integrating them with cost-control outputs on major infrastructure projects
  • Sound judgment when developing strategies that affect customer service, safety, and cost efficiency
  • Adaptability in a dynamic environment undergoing significant change
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to share information and support colleagues
  • Experience embedded in client-side project teams, providing independent cost management and commercial advice
  • Experience with contract administration, variation assessment, and change management, including evaluating cost impacts and informing commercial decisions
  • Strong knowledge of claims and the contractual and commercial issues associated with major infrastructure projects
  • Experience developing and improving cost reporting, forecasting, and project-controls processes
  • Ability to work across cost, commercial, planning, risk, and project-management disciplines
  • Experience presenting complex cost and commercial information to senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • Experience in consultancy settings and in roles embedded within client organisations
  • Potential responsibility for direct reports and management of a cost-control team
  • Demonstrated delivery of best-practice approaches
