Accountant and Deputy CASS Officer – London Hybrid
Manage accounting operations, reconciliations, treasury activity, and FCA CASS compliance. Support Alchemy’s institutional FX and CFD brokerage business through accurate financial control and client-money oversight.
Descriere
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, supplier payments, and employee expense transactions
- Produce and review balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports
- Keep financial records and supporting documentation complete, accurate, and well organized
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support the finance team’s decisions
- Process payroll and employee expense reimbursements
- Work with internal departments to collect financial information and maintain data accuracy
- Prepare year-end audit and regulatory filing statements and reports
- Lead and support the annual financial audit
- Manage general accounting administration, correspondence, filing, and record updates
- Process client and liquidity-partner deposits and withdrawals
- Help monitor regulatory and legal requirements, including sanctions screening for individuals and countries
- Work with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve compliance issues and breaches
- Oversee daily funding needs and cash allocation while maintaining strict separation between firm funds and client money
- Prepare accurate datasets and transaction samples for the annual external CASS audit
- Compile, validate, and submit the monthly Client Money and Asset Return (CMAR) to the FCA for a CASS Medium firm
- Complete due diligence and ongoing CASS oversight reviews for external banks and custodians, including verification of Acknowledgement Letters
- Record operational CASS breaches and implement corrective actions addressing their root causes
- Complete daily Internal Client Money Reconciliations (ICMR) using the individual Client Balance and Net Negative Add-Back methods
- Perform daily external reconciliations for client bank accounts by comparing internal ledgers with bank statements and clearing-house records
Cerințe
- Bring at least four years of experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, or treasury operations
- Hold ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional qualification
- Demonstrate the ability to perform and review daily internal and external CASS reconciliations, calculate client-money shortfalls or excesses accurately, and arrange timely fund transfers
- Identify, document, and investigate CASS issues, maintain the regulatory breach register, and escalate compliance risks appropriately
- Communicate confidently and clearly with the FCA during supervisory inquiries, CASS audits, and regulatory information requests, including presenting technical compliance data and complex financial workflows
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the clarity required to represent the firm with external regulators and internal audit teams
