Staff Frontend Engineer, Systems
Build high-performance browser data infrastructure and telemetry visualizations for Sift’s platform, which supports rockets, satellites, autonomous vehicles, and other mission-critical hardware.
Apraksts
- Design efficient browser data pipelines with Web Workers, Apache Arrow, OPFS caching, and layered invalidation strategies.
- Create interactive visualizations for time-series telemetry, FFT frequency analysis, geographic data, and scatter plots.
- Address browser performance challenges by coordinating worker pools, managing large binary buffers, bypassing React’s render cycle, and choosing between main-thread and off-thread processing.
- Design composable UI systems that present detailed hardware telemetry.
- Work with backend engineers on APIs, binary serialization formats, and query semantics for structured data endpoints.
- Help develop and scale Sift’s early-stage data infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams.
Prasības
- At least 7 years of experience building web software.
- Strong TypeScript skills.
- Experience working in a React codebase.
- Systems-level understanding of memory layout, thread coordination, caching strategies, and data serialization formats.
- Experience building software where correctness and performance could not be traded off.
- Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual such as an asylee or refugee.
- Must comply with ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Bonus: Experience with GPU-accelerated browser rendering, including WebGL, WebGPU, or Canvas 2D.
- Bonus: Experience with large-scale technical visualization using D3, ECharts, or custom renderers.
- Bonus: Experience with binary data formats or columnar data processing, such as Arrow, Parquet, Protocol Buffers, or FlatBuffers.
- Bonus: Experience with Web Workers, SharedArrayBuffer, OPFS, or other browser threading and storage APIs.
- Bonus: Experience in aerospace, scientific computing, medical devices, financial systems, or a similar field.
