Sift develops a unified observability platform for hardware telemetry, helping engineering teams collect, manage, visualize, and review complex machine data without relying on custom code. Its tools support real-time insight across the hardware lifecycle and are designed for mission-critical work in sectors including aerospace, transportation, defense, manufacturing, logistics, and consulting. Sift’s team is focused on simplifying telemetry workflows so organizations can make better use of operational data and keep engineering efforts moving efficiently.
Staff Frontend Engineer, Systems
Build high-performance browser data infrastructure and telemetry visualizations for Sift’s platform, which supports rockets, satellites, autonomous vehicles, and other mission-critical hardware.
$200,000 – $250,000 / year
HybridFull-timeLeadEnglish RequiredSystems EngineerDescription
- Design efficient browser data pipelines with Web Workers, Apache Arrow, OPFS caching, and layered invalidation strategies.
- Create interactive visualizations for time-series telemetry, FFT frequency analysis, geographic data, and scatter plots.
- Address browser performance challenges by coordinating worker pools, managing large binary buffers, bypassing React’s render cycle, and choosing between main-thread and off-thread processing.
- Design composable UI systems that present detailed hardware telemetry.
- Work with backend engineers on APIs, binary serialization formats, and query semantics for structured data endpoints.
- Help develop and scale Sift’s early-stage data infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams.
Requirements
