Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Team – Cluj-Napoca Hybrid

Senior SRE responsible for Garmin’s OpenStack and Kubernetes private cloud platform. Improve release reliability, observability, incident response, and scalability across Garmin services.

  • Maintain the integrity of Garmin’s production environment and coordinate well-managed, well-communicated releases
  • Lead process improvements throughout the project lifecycle and release workflow
  • Develop and deliver training on operational processes and automation that support software integrity and stability
  • Lead the design and definition of moderately and highly complex systems, features, and processes
  • Promote shift-left reliability and delivery performance across software development teams
  • Monitor and support moderately and highly complex software releases
  • Design and implement automated improvements to software lifecycles and production pipelines
  • Coordinate and enhance monitoring practices across applications and infrastructure
  • Build and maintain reporting-generation tools
  • Keep data accurate for reporting on key reliability SLOs across products and systems
  • Strengthen incident response by maintaining and improving incident playbooks
  • Identify and implement reliability improvements and automated recurrence prevention through post-incident work
  • Engage the SRE community in developing standards, best practices, and training
  • Participate in capacity planning to support software scalability during peak periods
  • Work professionally with Garmin associates to achieve shared goals
  • Support Garmin Private Cloud, an internal OpenStack and Kubernetes platform serving Garmin Connect, ConnectIQ Appstore, Garmin Golf, and other services

Prasības

  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure, tools, and processes, including Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying containerized applications with Kubernetes
  • Experience with moderately complex build and deployment automation
  • Experience scaling cloud-native applications in large, highly available environments
  • Experience using DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitLab, Nexus, or RunDeck
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Groovy
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Chef, or Puppet
  • Solid understanding of Linux system administration
  • Experience configuring complex, multi-tiered server applications
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented approach, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively with others
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency in application languages or frameworks such as Java, SpringBoot, C#, JavaScript, React, or Angular is a plus
  • Knowledge of RabbitMQ and Kafka is a plus
  • Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL data-storage technologies is a plus
  • Experience with OpenStack cloud infrastructure and related technologies is a plus
  • Experience with APM monitoring tools such as Zabbix, AppDynamics, New Relic, or Dynatrace is a plus
  • Experience with CDN providers such as Akamai or Cloudflare is a plus
  • Experience with observability tools such as Uptrends, Splunk, or Kibana is a plus
