Senior Industrial Designer, Hydration Products (Hybrid)

  • Own hydration product design from research and ideation through concept development, sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, refinement, and production handoff.
  • Turn client briefs, brand strategy, consumer insights, retail needs, and target pricing into focused product concepts and design solutions.
  • Research categories, competitors, consumers, materials, colors, and trends to uncover whitespace and guide differentiated opportunities.
  • Produce sketches, concept boards, design narratives, CAD models, 3D renderings, and presentation assets.
  • Shape the complete hydration experience, including vessel form, grip, balance, weight, drinking interfaces, lid mechanics, handles, straws, portability, cleaning, storage, and accessories.
  • Define color, material, and finish directions across stainless steel, copolyester, polypropylene, silicone, recycled materials, and other food-contact materials.
  • Create precise 3D CAD models and design documentation covering dimensions, tolerances, part relationships, assembly intent, and key performance requirements.
  • Work with product development, engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing partners to support cost-effective, high-volume production.
  • Assess and improve prototypes, samples, and tooling iterations for appearance, ergonomics, usability, leak resistance, thermal performance, durability, stability, fit, finish, and cleanability.
  • Anticipate design risks and solve challenges involving manufacturability, component complexity, materials, cost, schedules, quality, and user experience.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and factories to address technical feedback, strengthen construction, and preserve design intent.
  • Partner with graphic, packaging, and brand teams to deliver a unified consumer experience.
  • Present concepts and design recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Keep project files, CAD revisions, specifications, sample feedback, and design decisions organized across concurrent programs.
  • Track hydration behaviors, competitive products, emerging materials, sustainability, manufacturing capabilities, food-contact considerations, and product-safety requirements.
  • Use AI to improve efficiency and automation while maintaining creativity, judgment, and original thinking.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, product design, or a related discipline.
  • At least six years of industrial design experience with hardgoods or lifestyle products, such as hydration, drinkware, housewares, or outdoor goods.
  • A strong portfolio showing consumer-focused design, concept development, and technical execution through production.
  • Advanced skill with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, or Creo, along with Adobe Creative Suite and renderers such as KeyShot.
  • Solid understanding of materials, finishes, ergonomics, mechanical interfaces, tolerances, tooling, and design for high-volume manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience using prototypes and test results to improve product performance, usability, and quality.
  • Ability to reconcile creative direction with cost, margin, timing, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Clear presenter and collaborator who works effectively with clients, account teams, engineers, developers, and factories.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and adaptable when managing multiple projects and compressed timelines.
  • Willingness and experience to travel internationally for vendor collaboration, sampling, and final production approvals.
  • Experience with sustainable materials and repairable or modular products is strongly preferred.
  • Working familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for workflow efficiency and analysis.
