Apraksts

  • Support VDOT’s Central Office Maintenance Division and Highway Maintenance Management Section.
  • Follow the direction of the HMMS Program Manager.
  • Conduct advanced GIS analysis.
  • Oversee enterprise asset data.
  • Analyze, validate, and maintain GIS data for maintenance assets.
  • Build and maintain GIS applications with ESRI technologies.
  • Coordinate technical matters among ITD, asset management system administrators, and system users.
  • Create GIS tools and applications independently.
  • Complete complex analyses and produce multi-layer maps.
  • Build and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications for spatial data management.
  • Provide technical coordination to users with different levels of technical experience.
  • Travel within Virginia as needed.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, cartography, computer science, or a related field, with GIS experience.
  • Four to eight years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
  • At least five years designing, building, and delivering web applications.
  • Experience building web applications with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript or another JavaScript mapping API.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, design, development, and debugging skills.
  • Experience developing complex analysis and mapping projects.
  • Ability to explain technical information orally and in writing to non-technical computer users.
  • Strong command of ESRI GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro 3.x or later, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Ability to independently build GIS tools and applications, conduct complex analyses, and create multi-layer maps.
  • Software technical background and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Preferred experience with data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, particularly Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with LRS and ESRI Roads & Highways or similar systems is a plus.
  • Experience working with enterprise asset management systems and datasets.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI is strongly desired.
  • The posting also specifies six years in GIS and GIS application development, five years with ESRI GIS software, and five years communicating technical information to non-technical users.

Priekšrocības

  • Hybrid schedule with three to four days per week in the office.
  • Some travel within Virginia may be required.
