  • Provide production support for mission-critical database environments, including scheduled shifts and on-call coverage
  • Monitor database performance, respond to incidents, troubleshoot production issues, and coordinate restoration with development and operations teams
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for production defects and support long-term platform stability improvements
  • Operate within an Agile solution development environment that includes daily scrums, biweekly sprint planning, and quarterly Program Increment planning
  • Establish operating standards and best practices for database performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Define, govern, and coordinate data elements and standards while facilitating data relationships, systems integration, and physical structure
  • Help develop and implement database management policies and standards
  • Gather business requirements from Product Owners and users and translate them into technical requirements
  • Collaborate with agency leaders, stakeholders, consultants, and program or agency personnel on data analysis methods
  • Document complex workflow designs for project teams and stakeholders
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets using advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques
  • Synthesize information to identify patterns and relationships across data sources
  • Create data visualizations for key performance indicators and program outcome metrics
  • Lead peer reviews of developer code, validate data, and protect data accuracy and integrity
  • Build stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and other database objects in SQL Server Management Studio
  • Design and develop scalable Databricks lakehouse data models, including bronze, silver, and gold layers, dimensional models, fact and dimension tables, and curated data products
  • Develop and deploy ETL packages through CI/CD pipelines
  • Use configuration management systems to maintain version control
  • Work with the Atlassian Suite of software development management tools
  • Index system and application logs in Splunk and build dashboards, alerts, and reports

  • At least seven years of experience maintaining and analyzing Server databases or working in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, or another relevant computer-focused major; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • Experience supporting production database systems, including scheduled shifts and on-call responsibilities
  • Proficiency with AWS database technologies, including Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and other AWS-managed data services
  • Experience with Databricks and exposure to the AWS cloud platform
  • Experience installing, configuring, and providing ongoing administration for database environments
  • Working knowledge of standard data warehouse concepts
  • Proficiency in data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts
  • Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions across multiple platforms
  • Experience migrating data from legacy on-premises databases to multicloud or hybrid-cloud platforms
  • Ability to lead initiatives independently, prioritize work, and deliver results
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide on-call support and follow a flexible work schedule when required
  • Database or cloud certification preferred, including AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or an equivalent industry-recognized certification
  • Experience creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards preferred
  • Knowledge of court operations and law-enforcement business data preferred
