  • Create and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls that support regulatory adherence
  • Own CoinJar’s Australian AML/CTF Program, including CDD/KYC, transaction monitoring, suspicious matter reporting, governance, and controls
  • Lead AML/CTF program reviews, independent audits, and remediation activities
  • Serve as CoinJar’s designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer with AUSTRAC and lead Australian regulatory engagement
  • Assess the effectiveness of transaction monitoring, enhanced due diligence, blockchain surveillance, and case management controls
  • Partner with the Financial Crime team to strengthen monitoring, investigations, and escalation processes
  • Convert regulatory requirements into proportionate operational controls with Legal, Financial Crime, and business teams
  • Oversee compliance with Australian financial services regulations, including Australian Financial Services Licensing obligations
  • Manage processes for complaints, incidents, breaches, and regulatory notifications
  • Provide compliance guidance on new products, tokens, customer journeys, marketing, and other material business changes
  • Provide functional leadership and coordination for regional Compliance Managers and MLROs
  • Coordinate staff training on regulatory obligations, AML/CTF awareness, and risk management protocols
  • Track regulatory developments across CoinJar’s markets and advise the Board and management on material changes and business impact
  • Lead or support engagement with regulators, industry bodies, working groups, banking partners, and other external stakeholders

  • Substantial senior-level experience in compliance, AML/CTF, financial crime, or regulatory roles within financial services, payments, digital assets, fintech, or another highly regulated sector
  • Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF obligations, with experience overseeing an AML/CTF compliance framework
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulation
  • Proven ability to deliver clear, pragmatic regulatory advice to senior executives and business teams
  • Experience coordinating compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions is highly regarded
  • Experience in digital assets, cryptocurrency, payments, or fintech is highly regarded
