Corporate Media Relations and Communications Manager
Lead corporate media relations and communications supporting HII’s naval shipbuilding and defense technology mission. Create media content, manage reputation, support crisis communications, and help promote major shipbuilding milestones.

- Create and edit public-facing content about shipbuilding, national security, and HII’s mission
- Support digital communications for external, internal, and social media platforms
- Manage content across HII’s internal and external channels for accuracy, timeliness, and strategic alignment
- Produce engaging stories about HII’s people, programs, and innovations
- Contribute to crisis communications planning and response
- Prepare communications and security plans for media visits and support on-site engagements
- Work with teams across the enterprise, including occasional travel to milestone events and trade shows
- Build knowledge of HII’s mission, workforce, and industry to develop strong media, stakeholder, and public relationships
- Support corporate reputation, program capture, and strategic business initiatives
- Provide communications support for major shipbuilding milestones
- Promote HII’s mission, purpose, scale, and career opportunities to help attract talent

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education, training, and experience, plus six years of progressive professional or supervisory experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with four years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Background in the defense and aeronautical industries
- Experience in media relations and issues management
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities
- Proficiency with AP style
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing a 24-hour news cycle
