Deliver non-clinical doula support during pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum period
Offer culturally responsive emotional, informational, and physical support based on each member’s preferences and needs
Keep service documentation accurate and up to date
Comply with relevant privacy, documentation, quality, and payer standards
Work with Malama Health’s care team when members require assistance beyond the doula scope of practice
Practice independently while Malama Health manages insurance administration, including enrollment, credentialing, billing, and payment

Practicing birth doula with experience in Minnesota
Listed on the Minnesota Doula Registry, or eligible and willing to complete registration
Willing to complete required Minnesota Medicaid and health-plan enrollment and credentialing
Experience supporting clients through prenatal care, labor and birth, and postpartum recovery
Empathetic, positive, collaborative, and comfortable working with people
Communicates openly and provides candid feedback
Committed to maternal health and Malama Health’s mission of improving outcomes and reducing equity gaps
Strong connections to, or lived experience within, the communities served
Community roots, passion, and dedication to birth equity are valued; extensive experience is not required

Flexible independent practice with control over availability
Option to maintain a personal doula practice and work with other organizations
Regular payment for services provided through Malama Health
