- Create and implement category strategies that balance cost, quality, and supply continuity
- Lead initiatives that increase value across the assigned spend portfolio
- Build strategic supplier relationships and maximize supplier capabilities
- Develop continuous-improvement opportunities through design-to-value, cost modeling, and process mapping
- Track market conditions, supplier competition, industry standards, and pricing strategies
- Direct competitive sourcing events, assess suppliers, and prepare award recommendations
- Negotiate pricing, commercial conditions, and supplier contracts
- Keep supplier agreements, service-level agreements, pricing records, and category files current
- Connect R&D and Procurement to align business requirements with category plans
- Help resolve Procure-to-Pay issues such as price variances, delayed payments, and invoice errors

- At least five years of experience managing Direct Materials categories in a global, matrixed organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to present recommendations, progress updates, and insights to senior leaders and engage executive stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with sourcing and procurement methods, including RFPs, cost models, should-cost or clean-sheet analysis, negotiations, and contracts
- Working knowledge of procurement standards, sourcing practices, and supplier performance management
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, initiative, collaboration, responsiveness, and communication abilities
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to interpret and negotiate supplier agreements
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, plus MRP systems; SAP experience is preferred
- Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
