Category Lead – APIs, Pharmaceutical Packaging & CMO
Lead strategic procurement for APIs, pharmaceutical packaging, and CMO services at a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company. Develop global supplier strategies, negotiate agreements, and manage supply risks.

- Create and execute global procurement and category strategies for APIs, pharmaceutical packaging, and external manufacturing services
- Manage CMOs, CDMOs, and international suppliers strategically across the full product lifecycle
- Lead direct procurement categories covering APIs, primary and secondary packaging, and contract manufacturing
- Evaluate global procurement markets, supplier networks, production capacity, cost trends, and supply risks
- Run complex tenders and negotiate framework, supply, and contract manufacturing agreements
- Build strategic supplier partnerships and oversee performance and escalation management
- Work closely with QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Operations, MSAT, Packaging Development, and Supply Chain
- Contribute to product and technology transfers, new product launches, and changes to the external manufacturing network
- Identify and reduce supply chain risks related to single-source suppliers, capacity limits, material discontinuations, and supplier failures
- Design and implement dual-sourcing, regionalization, and business continuity plans
- Support supplier qualification, audits, change controls, and quality agreements with the relevant functional teams
- Capture cost, contractual, and consolidation opportunities while maintaining quality, compliance, and security of supply
Талаптар
- Several years of strategic procurement experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or another regulated industry
- Proven background in direct procurement and/or category management
- Strong expertise in at least two of these areas: APIs, primary and secondary packaging, or contract manufacturing through CMO/CDMO partners
- Experience managing external manufacturing partners and complex international supplier networks
- Sound understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and supply chains
- Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging formats, including vials, stoppers, closures, blisters, bottles, tubes, films, and other primary and secondary materials
- Working knowledge of GMP, supplier qualification, quality agreements, change control, and regulatory obligations
- Experience leading international tenders, contract negotiations, and strategic supplier management
- Strong command of procurement cost structures, market dynamics, capacity risks, and supplier dependencies
- Experience partnering with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Operations, Supply Chain, and other technical teams
- Analytical, organized, and entrepreneurial approach to work
- Highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Business-fluent English; German language proficiency is advantageous
